Mock Inspection Governance Review Rating Improvement Evidence Gaps

The situation

We work with care home providers across England at every stage of the regulatory cycle — from first inspection to sustaining Outstanding. Providers come to us when they recognise that operational quality alone does not determine outcomes. Evidence architecture, documentation standards, and how managers perform under inspection conditions all matter — and all can be strengthened.

What we do

Each engagement begins with a full-day on-site mock inspection structured to CQC single assessment framework expectations. Registered managers are interviewed — not briefed. A written report follows, with prioritised actions and, where needed, direct delivery of the follow-through work: updated policies, rebuilt evidence packs, restructured governance documentation.

Outcome

We have supported providers from Requires Improvement to Good, from Good to Outstanding, and helped Outstanding providers build the infrastructure to hold that position over time.

Specialist Clinical Service — London

Regulated clinic delivering advanced clinical therapies · Multi-regulator environment · Pre-operational

Governance Build CQC · MHRA Policy & SOP Suite Workforce Governance

The situation

A specialist clinic delivering advanced clinical therapies needed its governance infrastructure built from the ground up — across CQC and MHRA. The challenge was not compliance for its own sake. The clinic needed systems its clinical team could actually use, accountability structures that reflected how it operated, and documentation capable of withstanding scrutiny from regulators with distinct but overlapping expectations.

What we did

Aegis designed the full governance architecture: a policy and SOP suite calibrated across CQC and MHRA requirements, covering medicines management, consent, adverse event reporting, patient pathways, IPC, and workforce governance. Where the clinic's circumstances required specialist input beyond standard advisory, our expert advisors provided bespoke support tailored to the specific regulatory and operational context.

Outcome

The clinic launched with governance proportionate to its complexity and usable in practice. We continue to support this organisation through an ongoing retainer — providing seamless advisory as the service grows and the regulatory landscape evolves.

International Providers Entering the UK Market

Remote advisory · New provider registration · Policy and governance build · CQC application support

CQC Registration Remote Support Policy Suite International

The situation

We work with healthcare providers based outside the UK who are establishing regulated services here for the first time. These providers bring strong clinical track records from their home markets — but navigating CQC registration, building a compliant governance infrastructure, and understanding how UK regulatory expectations apply in practice is a distinct challenge that requires specialist support from the outset.

What we do

Aegis supports international providers through the full registration journey, delivered entirely remotely. This includes advising on regulated activity mapping and service model structuring, building a tailored policy suite, preparing registration documentation and application forms, and readying providers for CQC interview and post-submission scrutiny. Where a provider's circumstances are complex or novel, our expert advisors provide bespoke guidance specific to the regulatory pathway.

Outcome

Providers we have supported have submitted complete, well-evidenced CQC applications — entering the UK market with governance infrastructure that meets regulatory expectations from day one, without the cost or delay of establishing a local compliance function.
